What choices of cover do you offer?

The main choices are Buildings and Contents. Personal Possessions cover and Legal Protection cover are available as options with Contents cover, and Garden Cover is available as an option with Buildings cover. Further information is contained in the Zurich Connect home insurance document.

Why do I need Home insurance?

Your home and your belongings may be the most valuable possessions you own and insurance like Zurich Connect's is there to help reassure you if something unforeseen happens. Also, if you have a mortgage it will almost certainly be a requirement of the mortgage company to have insurance for your buildings. Home Contents insurance is your own choice and covers your belongings against events such as theft, fire and flood. Personal Possessions insurance means that your belongings can also be covered when away from your home.  Further information is contained in the Zurich Connect home insurance document.

What is the difference between buildings and contents?

Buildings insurance covers the structure of the home together with its permanently fitted fixtures and fittings. Contents insurance covers the contents of the home, items that you would take with you if you moved home.

What is Personal Possessions cover?

Personal Possessions cover can be added to Contents cover. Without this, your possessions are not covered when you are away from home. If, for example, you lose a ring when on holiday, you will need to have Personal Possessions cover in order to be insured for your loss.

Do you have any Combined Cover discounts?

Yes, if you insure both Buildings and Contents with us, you will benefit from a reduced premium.

What cover is available for my PC?

Your PC will be covered for selected events as part of Contents cover (please see Zurich Connect home insurance document for details). If you want cover outside the home, for example, for a laptop or notepad, you will need to select ‘Personal Possessions Cover’.

How do I go about making a claim?

You can make a claim by logging into My Connect, and then clicking 'notify claim'.  You can also report a claim by calling us on 0800 345 7595, lines are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

I’m not sure how much cover I need. How do I find out?

You need to make sure that you have enough cover for the rebuilding cost of your home for Buildings insurance and for the replacement of your belongings with Contents insurance.

The rebuilding cost of your property is different from the market value, and you will need to ensure you have sufficient cover for the full rebuilding cost of your property. Zurich Connect automatically covers up to £500,000 rebuilding costs and up to £50,000 contents insurance. When considering how much cover you need, take into account the replacement cost of things like furniture, electrical goods and music collections.
